As the ICAAP Model Development & Management team is a new one so we are looking for a candidate with the drive and innovative ideas to start something new!

You will be joining the ICAAP Centre of Excellence that leads the way in establishing the EMEA Controllers Model Development Management team, which sits within the EMEA ICAAP team. The team will lead on developing models used in ICAAP (with a particular emphasis on non-MLEs) as well as the ongoing management/governance of models sponsored by EMEA Controllers.

The centralization of this function is intended to deliver efficiencies in the engagement of the Model Risk Management (MRM) team but also to provide much needed capacity to EMEA Legal Entities.

In this position you will use and expand your experience and professional skills for the following responsibilities:

General

  • Provide support to the EMEA Head of ICAAP and Head, ICAAP Model Development & Management in connection with the implementation of the EMEA ICAAP Target Operating Model.
  • Appropriately assess risks and issues related to projects and ensure timely and effective escalation
  • Bring new ideas to the table for the benefit of Citi and propose implementation solutions

Model Management/Governance

  • Lead on the model management/governance of MRM requirements for designated EMEA Legal Entities for existing models including the annual validation process.
  • Be engaged with MRM in connection with ensuring timely annual re-validation of models is obtained on all models managed by the team.
  • Keep abreast of changes to the MRM policy or Data Governance Policy to ensure models remain compliant.
  • Enhance process controls to ensure data quality, usability, and traceability in line with internal policy and industry standard.
  • Lead the development/enhancement initiatives to identify and to document business requirements for Model Risk Management inventory system, iMRMs, following Citi’s MRM procedures.
  • Provide support for the development/management of the Financial Models / EUC database for the EMEA ICAAP program in line with the program run by Risk to enable to track data and provide EMEA-level analysis on our model / EUC performance.
  • Support reporting on ICAAP models/EUC performance with EMEA Committees and the Stress Testing Forecasting & Capabilities Forum (STFC)

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a transparent SME to senior stakeholders and team members including timely and effective escalation. Engage stakeholders including project sponsors and project managers, country CFOs/Controllers, Group model sponsors and users that process Country data, CROs/Risk, regional managers, and Technology seniors.
  • Participation in ICAAP Communications to EMEA staff.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • 6+ years of work experience in a model documentation/governance role.
  • Knowledge of or experience with the calculations of regulatory capital, financial forecasting or RWA forecasting would be extremely helpful.
  • Awareness/understanding of Citi’s Model Risk Management Policy and Procedures
  • Highly motivated with attention to detail, team oriented, organized
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of industry best practice for model documentation
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior leaders
  • Interpersonal skills, ability to manage stakeholders
  • Enthusiastic team player but also a self starter
