The Business Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a professional team or department. The team drives the overall administrative activities of the business. These tasks may include managing external audits, business continuity activities or addressing regulatory issues. The Business Manager coordinates and manages activities such as the tracking of business financials, employee headcount and other administrative needs as necessary. Manages ad hoc projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Support to Asia North & Australia Business Execution team from a business, support and administration perspective. 
  • Manage Assistants (EA's) in HK and have overall supervision of the function across the Cluster
  • Drive efficiencies and working practices of the EA function with the goal of increasing productivity
  • Have over responsibility of office services for the Cluster including CoB, seating and cost management
  • Support end-to-end project management of execution initiatives from idea generation to monetization
  • Ensuring effective running of Markets in Asia North & Australia working in partnership with all product lines, control and support functions, etc.
  • Effective management of meetings, events, agendas and tracking of actions / priorities and follow ups for the Cluster
  • Help various product lines prioritize and drive execution of key initiatives / drive the most important priorities across the Cluster
  • Partner with local and regional business management team to ensure alignment of business goals
  • Manage a team by providing technical knowledge, coaching, evaluation, determining hiring etc.
  • Assist leadership and stakeholders with developing projects, determining strategies, and defining/providing metrics
  • Advance control framework including executing Manager’s Control Assessment testing, operational loss processes, and corrective actions
  • Prepare materials, record minutes, and follow-up as needed on items for business committees and/ or regular business meetings
  • Seek out sources, track, consolidate and analyze ad-hoc and regular business requests
  • Drive implementation of business-driven projects across functions, working closely with relevant senior leadership
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in financial markets business or business support
  • Experience within a Business Management function preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise of Microsoft Office product suite; basic macro coding experience and proficiency in Microsoft Access and PowerPoint preferred
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
