Team/Role Overview

The E-Trading Risk Management (ETRM) team continues to grow and evolve within the Risk organisation. ETRM covers all E-Trading activities across the firm with most of that activity centred in Citi’s Markets trading businesses (Foreign Exchange, Equities, Rates, Spread Products and Futures).

Working under the direction of and reporting to the ETRM Technology Pod Lead, this position will be responsible for driving the development of Market Liquidity assessment, supporting independent oversight of E-Trading activities across Citi. The Liquidity function within the Technology Pod will help to deliver data, tools and insight across multiple Risk stripes and to the Business, to enhance the effectiveness of Risk Management oversight.

More broadly, the Technology Pod provides independent oversight of the effective deployment of Mandatory E-Trading Controls. This process is critical to the review and approval of E-Trading activities performed by ETRM and the ideal candidate will have some capability in this space and / or a willingness to learn and contribute to this critical area of ETRM's remit.

As the Industry and Firm evolve approaches to the effective and sustainable deployment of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, there is scope for growth in this area. Candidates with experience and understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/ Machine Learning (ML) and Technology systems and implementation of these and / or Trading are encouraged to apply.

What you’ll do

• Develop and deploy methods across all asset classes to assess electronic market liquidity with a sustainable way of identifying changes relevant to risk management and control calibration.
• Work across Risk, first line technology and E-Trading quant teams to build systematic access to data required to assess electronic liquidity.
• Deliver value-add insight and communications on market liquidity to stakeholders across Risk and Business areas.
• Support the wider Technology Pod development targets and leading E-Trading Control Testing reviews and analysis where required.
• Evolve responses to and usage of AI / ML within E-Trading and the ETRM Function as opportunities arise.

What we’ll need from you

• Proficiency with Computer programming is essential (common relevant languages include R, Python, Java).
• Knowledge and experience of wider Data Science concepts, including Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning preferred.
• Knowledge of E-Trading products and electronic trade flows with a focus on automated trading systems and controls desirable.
• Strong knowledge of financial products with an understanding of market liquidity desirable.
• Ability to manage complex projects, amongst competing priorities and deliver sustainable, scalable solutions to facilitate growth in awareness and widespread adoption of liquidity analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and competence in portraying complex content in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior management and other stakeholders to successfully implement and deliver change.
