Investments - Business Risk and Control Officer, VP

Role Overview

The Citi Global Wealth Management Investments (CGWI) Business Risk Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within the Risk and Control area and contributes to directional strategy.  Supports Regional and Global initiatives, which mitigate risk for the Wealth Management Investments business.

Responsibilities:

• Reviews regulatory obligations for various Investments products and works with Product Managers, Independent Compliance Risk Management and Operational Risk Management to design and map appropriate controls as well as implement effective control monitoring tools to ensure compliance. Reviews regulatory controls and monitoring tools across all regions to ensure consistency.
• Ensures control gaps are tracked with issues and corrective action plans (CAPs) across all regions, collaborating with business partners and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
• Manages and supports multiple risk and control programs for the organization including defining the strategy, approach, processes, quality, tools and reporting that provide global risk management consistency and excellence.
• Partners with the Product managers to correctly map risks and controls to the product inventory.
• Participates in Audits and other exams and works closely with business partners on findings to ensure risks are properly mitigated with controls and monitoring.
• Leverages data to analyze impacts and trends to identify and track Key Risk Indicators.
• Creates meaningful presentations for senior management and various committees and forums.
• Operates with a limited level of direct supervision, exercising independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Participates and leads transformational initiatives relevant to the role.
• Acts as a Risk and Control Subject Matter Expert (SME) to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Able to understand and document complex process and data flows across multiple systems and platforms.
• Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and their assets, by driving compliance with the applicable laws and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 10+ experience in Financial Services, with knowledge of complex investment products and Experience in Business Risk & Controls.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective organizational influencing skills.
• Ability to prepare presentations for Senior Management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to see the big picture with high attention to critical details.
• Auditing experience preferred
• Ability to influence senior management and target audience
• Bachelor degree required
