Overview:

Markets Price Risk Data Execution team is looking for a Risk Data Execution Lead, supporting the Price Risk Transformation program. ‘Price Risk’ includes all aspects of market risk management across First Line and Second Line functions and the initiative sets out to improve and enhance risk management controls and processes across Markets businesses.

Role Context

The role will be part of the Price Risk execution team as a first line cross-asset risk and control function, which designs, operates and facilitates controls to manage the operational risk, valuation risk and governance components of managing quality of Price Risk, including data quality risk. The team works closely with Global Markets Trading Businesses, In-Business Risk (IBR), Finance and 2LoD in building and managing 1LOD data controls and implementing data quality issue management and governance across processes and activities in scope of the Price Risk Framework

The role will require knowledge of Price Risk processes across first and second line risk management and Product/Valuation control, as well as change skills to define, organize and co-ordinate a strategic program of work across businesses and regions. Successful execution will require collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders within Traders, Markets Risk and Control, Quants, Technology, Risk Management and Finance, while leading engagements with Internal Audit and regulators. The program covers all asset classes.  It will involve collaboration with stakeholder groups to define a best in class target state, with a robust control framework as well as a set of practical actions to achieve

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Price Risk Data Execution Lead to drive execution of 1LOD calculated Market Risk Sensitivity data, data controls and architecture changes
  • Work with relevant Citi leadership as well as outside experts to design a target-state control-framework for Price Risk, which meets regulatory expectations
  • Understand the data quality issues aligned with that data set including end to end data flows and controls and ensure these are addressed in the defined target state solution with robust controls
  • Define a strategy to execute against the designed target-state control-framework for Price Risk, including business analysis, data analysis, practical testing and implementation
  • Lead or participate in working groups, workshops and stakeholders to understand data and business requirements, define project plans and manage timelines
  • Oversee a project management/SME team to design required actions to implement the target state and track completion of the actions in line with Citi change methodology
  • Work with Control and Internal Audit stakeholders to ensure credible challenge throughout the remediation process and validation of results in line with Citi’s Internal Audit requirements
  • Present on status of the program to senior stakeholders within Citi

Qualifications & skills:

  • 10-15 years of experience in relevant fields of Market Risk Management or working closely with Risk, or in an associated consulting role
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; must be articulate and persuasive with the judgement and authority to provide insightful commentary to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to drive change to business practices by working effectively across a global organization.
  • Ability to handle complexity, ambiguity and a fast changing, often demanding work environment
  • Self-starting with the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Good knowledge and practical understanding of input data used to generate risk sensitivities (trade, market data, reference data), data governance and lineage – experience in operationalizing strong risk and control processes
  • Strong leadership with ability to influence stakeholders
  • Experience in post-trade risk and valuation infrastructure
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and draw meaningful insight and recommend ways to improve quality, controls, and efficiency
  • Must be proficient with Excel - Use of Python, SQL, Digital tools would be a significant plus
  • Project management and change capabilities

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Master’s degree

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
