Acquisition is a critical function of the US Consumer Marketing organization (USCM).  The PMO Team works within Acquisition and across USCM to align strategy, update business and expense forecasts, measure performance and track competitive developments. The sum of this information keeps senior leadership informed of our position against our current strategy and keeps all necessary controls and operation procedures running seamlessly.

The Program Management Group Manager is responsible for Acquisitions strategy and operations, both internal to the team and as they relate to stakeholder teams and process in the broader Consumer Bank. The PMO must coordinate information inputs from a variety of business stakeholders, lead the discussion and alignment on inputs and final handoffs, and serve as a subject matter expert and single point for senior leader questions regarding business operations and controls.

This role offers exposure to the leadership and strategy of the Acquisitions Group, combining both strategic and tactical projects on a fast paced and collaborative team

The Program Management Grp Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly Forecast strategy discussion, ensuring partners and channels are aligned
  • Develop decks and presentation materials explaining Acquisitions’ strategic position in the market as well as potential opportunities and risks to the position
  • Manage the PMO team of 3 direct reports, overseeing:
    • Quarterly Expense Optimization process, ensuring expense inputs are aligned and properly loaded, assisting Finance as necessary.
    • Semi-annual Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR Stress Test) following acquisition methodology and Finance guidance.
    • Records Retention process for Acquisitions, ensuring team is within compliance and coordinating responsible parties across Acquisitions and USCM.
    • Competitive Intelligence and sharing latest information with Acquisitions leadership and stakeholders
    • Daily, Weekly, and Monthly performance reporting
  • Apply critical thinking and communication skills to answer stakeholder questions, identify bottlenecks and outline potential improvements to existing processes
  • Maintain an extreme focus on detail, data sources, and deliverable timelines


Qualifications:

  • 7+ years business experience, particularly in marketing, finance, or decision management/analytics
  • Strong familiarity with the current state of US Consumer marketing in the financial services and branded cards acquisition
  • Must be competent with MS Excel and fundamental analytic tactics
  • Financial services industry experience preferred


Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency. Candidate must be able to make fact-based recommendations to improve our overall strategies.
