Team/Role Overview

Labor Relations professionals provide support for a suite of activities and are critical liaisons between HR, Employment Law, and Legal. The Labor Relations professional is expected to demonstrate  excellent communication and diplomacy skills as well as an understanding of applicable local labor laws and regulatory requirements.  The Labor Relations Manager will Partner with Employment Legal and Country HR Officers on employment litigation processes as well as partner with HR/ER/Employment Legal teams in order to anticipate and advise on potential ER issues within their portfolio of responsibilities and support any business specific initiatives impacting on people and develop business appropriate ER and labor relations strategy.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with Employment Legal, ICRM, Regulatory Liaison Office and Country Legal teams to respond to Labor authorities or regulators on employment matters.
  • Translate external labor counsel labor law / regulations, summarising key points and advising on internal implementation in regards to changes impacting the workplace;
  • Monitor changes in labor law to advise the respective CHRO and management
  • Handbook amendments and policy dissemination in partnership with the Policy team
  • Support ER and HRP&D in investigations in accordance with country legislative framework.
  • Manage complex employee matters (disciplinaries, grievances etc) in consultation with Employment Legal
  • Advise/counsel on all HR matters under local law including hiring, working shifts, performance, mobility , cross-border transfers, local legal vehicles
  • Provide Information for Senior Escalation meetings and Committees.
  • Oversight on Occupational Health issues: committees participation, representation with regulators, -where applicable
  • Coordinate the Pension plan scheme activities according to country requirements and pension plan specifications, including negotiation with Unions, leading Pension Plan Committee meetings, externalization of funds, managing of incidences & compliance with deadlines.
  • Manage Pension Regulatory Reporting to local authorities, be the main contact with pension actuaries and pension plan fund.
  • Oversight on social fund maters, monitoring adherence to social fund legal requirements, managing the social fund budget.
  • Confirm policy and Regulation applicability under labor law.
  • Provide advice to Policy Lead on changes to Employees Handbook
  • Support new local policy development in response to legislative changes.
  • Support key country initiatives implementation and global projects rollout according to local law.
  • Engage and represent HR with Regulatory Employee Relations requirements, under the Individual Accountability Regime (IAF) and SEAR (Senior Executive Accountability Regime).
  • Undertake local HR residual activities across the employee life–cycle until these are right-placed.
  • Cover local language requirements on corporate initiatives
  • External & internal HR Audits support.
  • Record management framework: Support with Country Data Deletion Declaration. Inventory of local HR records control/creation, record retention removal of HR electronic and physical data online with Personal Data Protection Law.
  • Ensure adherence to the key country regulations requirements on local leave periods as per country laws and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Manage any individual ER related matters and act as advisor to HR Partner
  • Liaise with HRPD to provide expertise on leave matters and required updates to Time and Attendance system
  • Lead Pan-European projects as required to support professional development and personal growth
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy,

What we’ll need from you

  • Solid relevant HR experience needed
  • Experience managing complex employee processes and matters
  • Legal framework knowledge.
  • Understanding of local learning and development activities as per law, including works council.
  • Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience, Master’s degree preferred
  • Swedish language, mother tongue / fluent
  • English / fluent
